The Down Syndrome Advancement Coalition believes all individuals with intellectual disabilities should be afforded the opportunity to learn and contribute to the well being of their community. By creating a coalition and partnering with the business community, state policymakers, school systems, advocacy groups and other stakeholders it allows for positive change in the lives of all individuals with intellectual disabilities.

to create a partnership of active Down syndrome organizations across the state of Arkansas, advocating on the behalf of individuals with Down syndrome and their families. DSAC of Arkansas pursues the implementation of laws, regulations and policies aimed at improving access to education, healthcare and jobs, the encouragement of independence through self-determination and the implementation of innovative programs and best practices among service providers. DSAC seeks to improve the quality of life for all individuals with Down syndrome. By drawing on the expertise and leadership of coalition members, DSAC is able to provide a comprehensive view of key issues impacting the Down syndrome community in Arkansas.

EDUCATE
Inform families about the resources and benefits designed for individuals with Down syndrome. ADVOCATE Advocate on behalf of individuals with Down syndrome on the issues of wellness, education, and employment. AWARENESS Promote awareness and understanding about Down syndrome and make the community aware of the ABILITIES of individuals with Down syndrome. OUTREACH Connect families by bridging the communication gap between our community and the public and private agencies that serve us so we can work together, better. |
